芝加哥艺术学院
School of the Art Institute of Chicago
美国顶尖的艺术教育机构之一，由博物馆和学校两部分组成，于1866年建校。学校本身并没有所谓的校园，不过因为它的地理位置刚好就在密歇根湖畔，与千禧公园（Millennium Park) 和Grant Park相邻，因此学校环境令人感到优雅舒适。其博物馆以收藏大量印象派作品以及美国艺术品闻名于世，如莫奈、修拉、梵高、爱德华.霍普等人的作品。该学院则旨在培养视觉艺术人才，曾就学的有华尔特.迪士尼、乔治亚.欧姬芙等。
为当时在艺术学院方面的改革者，为美国声望最高及评价很崇高的艺术学院之一，在国际上享有极高的荣誉。芝加哥艺术学院的校风自由，因此来此就读的学生并不会被限定是否要主修特定的科目。该校相信，成为艺术家的重点是如何看待这个世界，因此视野是十分重要的。芝加哥艺术学院的教授水准非常高，注重学生的思考、创造性，十分专业地给予与促进学生在概念上及技术方面的启发。

Karen is a painter, educator, and curator. Born in Miami, FL, she currently lives and works in Chicago. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Director of the O’Connor Art Gallery at Dominican University, River Forest, IL.
